My Huong Le was born in 1970 in Vietnam to a Vietnamese mother and Australian father. She was later evacuated in 1975 on a journey that eventually led her to living with adoptive parents in Australia as a young child with her brother. Life was not always easy. Through much courage after the death of her adoptive mother, My Huong began searching for her birth mother and was reunited with her in 2004. My Huong now lives in Vietnam in Vung Tau and was asked by the director of Trung Tam Bao Tro Tre Em Vung Tau orphanage to represent an organization called Pour les Enfants des Rizieres (APER). She welcomes poeople who can visit the centre and do volunteer work.
My Huong has kindly shared her whole adoption story from adoption, to reunion and reflecting on her experiences which can be found on My Huong Le’s Reflections page.
